‘Bali Ha’i’ at Tonganoxie High

It was “Some Enchanted Evening” again and again last weekend at the Tonganoxie Performing Arts Center.
The Tonganoxie High School drama and music departments staged the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic “South Pacific” Thursday through Sunday at TPAC.
More than 40 THS students performed in the cast for the school’s fall musical.
Nathan Tuter played the role of Emile De Becque, while Emma DeMaranville was Ensign Nellie Forbush.
Lauren Lawson was Ngana, De Becque’s daughter, and Declan Franey was Jerome, De Becque’s son.
Christine Pudenz played the role of Henrietta, De Becque’s French servant, while Lauren Harrell was Bloody Mary and Hannah Kobe played Liat, Bloody Mary’s daughter.
Others who were part of the company were Josh Lingo (Luther Billis), Quin Smith (Stewpot), Nathan Bothwell (professor), Jackson Bartlett (Lt. Joseph Cable), Levi Koch (Capt. George Brackett), Ian Slater (Cmdr. William Harbison), Christian Grube (Lt. Genevieve Marshall), Meagan Behm (Ensign Dinah Murphy) and Emily Pierce (Ensign Janet MacGregor).
Sailors were Dylan Kroll, Gabe Dutton, Braden Shryock, Hunter York, Cory Weber, Stephen Arguijo, Calvin Fletcher, Jacob Brents, Milton Ulreich, Gage Smith and Josh Hunter.
Ensign nurses were Grace Woods, Mia Bond, Allison Williams, Megan Briggs, Molly Monahan, Erin Colacicco, Lauren Willson and Emma Sanborn.
Technical crew was Anahi Puebla, Aubrie Donnell, Tristan Yarnell, Ethan Sandburg, Casey Allen, Ricki Griffith and Bryce Schuck.
Elizabeth Higbee served as choreographer and Tom Gifford vocal director.
Steve Harrell directed the musical, while Debbie Holloway was associate director.
The high school’s next vocal performances will be at the annual Madrigal Feaste, which will be 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 in the Tonganoxie Middle School commons area. Call THS at 913-845-2654 for ticket information.
