The wind didn’t do the Tonganoxie High golf team any favors Monday at the Hayden Invitational in Topeka.

THS placed 12th out of 13 teams with a team score of 428.

“We took a step back, but with some good days of practice, we look to move forward,” said THS coach Doug Sandburg.

Matt Scharff shot an 89 and Gage Hendrix a 107 while Dawson Jones, Heath Martin and Ben Lanza each shot a 116.

Tonganoxie next will be in action at the Spring Hill Invite at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Shawnee Golf and Country Club, 6404 Hedge Lane Terrace, Shawnee.
