Tonganoxie man pleads no contest in case involving juvenile
A 54-year-old Tonganoxie pleaded no contest to two cases Friday in Leavenworth County District Court.
Warren P. Thompson entered a no contest plea to one charge of aggravated child endangerment and another for possession of a methamphetamine.
On May 3, 2015, officers with the Tonganoxie Police officers were dispatched to Thompson’s residence for a disturbance. After his arrest, Thompson was searched and a white substance was found in Thompson’s pocket. That substance tested positive for methamphetamine, according to Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson.
On June 13, 2015, Tonganoxie Police officers were back at Warren Thompson’s residence, this time as a result of a juvenile party that had been held there. Several members who attended the party reported that Warren Thompson purchased some of the alcohol that was consumed there. One juvenile was taken to the hospital that night due to her intoxication level and as a result of some of the alcohol purchased by Thompson, according to the county attorney.
Warren Thompson is scheduled to be sentenced at 10 a.m. Feb 19.
