Megan Williams with the Leavenworth County Attorney’s Office filed charges following a report made to law enforcement in February 2016 concerning possible neglect of a dog. Deputies with the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office went to the residence where they found the dog chained to a carport without access to water or shelter. Law enforcement officials checked on the dog multiple times in February and March, where the animal was found outside chained to the carport without access to water or shelter. The dog was removed for safety and adopted into another home.
