Tonganoxie USD 464 will open with a half-day of freshman orientation starting at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at Tonganoxie High School. It also will be the first day of school for grades 1-5 with a half-day at Tonganoxie Elementary School.

The first day of school for all grades is Wednesday, Aug. 12. Pre-kindergarten and grades 1-5 will have early release; kindergarten will start half-days. Grades 6-12 will have a full day of school. The first full day of kindergarten is Aug. 17.

Other early school year activities are seniors parking spot painting night from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, TES back to school night at 5 p.m. Monday, Tonganoxie MIddle School athletics information night at 5:30 p.m. Monday and TMS back to school night at 6 p.m. Monday. The Tongie Tailgate celebration iwll be Aug. 21 at Beatty Field.

McLouth

The first day of school for McLouth USD 342 is Aug. 14 and is a full day.

Additionally, Back to School Night will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12. There also will be a PTO back-to-school pool party all day Aug. 15 at Tonganoxie Water Park.

Basehor-Linwood

Basehor-Linwood USD 458 will have the first day of school for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and ninth grade Aug. 13. The First day of school for grades 7-8 and 10-12 are Aug. 14.

Lansing

School begins for Lansing USD 469 on Wednesday, Aug. 12. That day, students in grades K-6 and new middle school and high school students start classes.

Classes start Aug. 13 for returning students in grades 7-8 and 10-12. For early childhood and pre-kindergarten students, classes start Aug. 17.

Leavenworth

Student orientation for kindergarten and grades 1, 6, 7 and 9 for Leavenworth USD 453 is Aug. 17.

The first day of classes for all students is Aug. 18. Leavenworth High School open house is Aug. 25.

Eudora

The first day of classes for Eudora USD 491 will be a short session for grades 1-9 and new high school students. School will dismiss at 11:15 a.m. that day. The first full day of classes for grades 1-12 is Aug. 14, with the first day of kindergarten dismissing at 11:15 a.m. that day.

Pleasant Ridge

Easton USD 449 will start school Wednesday, Aug. 12 for all classes.

Pleasant Ridge schools, like other districts, will have its first day of vacation on Sept. 7 for Labor Day.
