Tongie Tailgate festivities set for Friday on Tonganoxie High campus

Beatty Field's longtime sign has a different look. Fresh paint applied this past week ties the sign into the color scheme of buildings and structures at the THS athletics complex.

The 6th annual Tongie Tailgate will celebrate the start of the 2026-27 school year.

Festivities start at 4:30 p.m. with the Tonganoxie High School volleyball scrimmage at Chieftain Arena.

Activities will then be at Beatty Field the rest of the night, with Hot dogs being served starting at 5:15 p.m. The THS band will perform at 5:30 p.m. and then the Tonganoxie Middle School and THS football teams will have their respective scrimmages at 5:40 p.m.

Here’s a look at the remaining schedule of introductions and activities for this year’s tailgate. The event is set to finish up around 6:45 p.m.:

• 5:43 p.m., First State Bank presentation (during football)

• 5:50 p.m., THS and TMS volleyball announced (during football)

• 5:55 p.m., Unified Bowling announced (during football)

• 6 p.m., 2025-26 TES Students of the Month announced

• 6 p.m., TMS and THS Cheer Squads Perform

• 6:15 p.m., THS soccer scrimmage

• 6:20 p.m., THS girls golf (during soccer)

• 6:25 p.m., TMS and THS cross country (during soccer)

• 6:30 p.m., Clay target team (during soccer)

• 6:35 p.m., THS dance performs

• 6:40 p.m., THS 4A girls wrestling state champions recognition.
