Tonganoxie USD 464 Board Room at the Administrative Center. The Tonganoxie USD 464 school board met for a special meeting Monday, but no action was taken again after board members returned from executive session.
Board members met for 30 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel and invited Kansas Association of School Boards attorney Lori Kopp into the meeting.
The board has met twice in special meetings since the last regular meeting, which was Feb. 9. That regular meeting came after a Jan. 30 special meeting in which the board approved putting Superintendent Loren Feldkamp on administrative leave through Feb. 9. At the meeting, the board voted to keep Feldkamp on paid administrative leave until further notice. The USD 464 superintendent is slated to retire at the end of June.
Kopp has met with the board in recent executive sessions as well, whether in person or remotely. Board President Justin Sturgeon has declined comment on the decision to place Feldkamp on administrative leave, noting that he cannot speak about personnel matters.
Feldkamp has been on administrative leave for nearly a month. The next regular meeting is set for 6 p.m. March 9 at the USD 464 Administrative Center.
