Now that it’s summer, Chieftain Cafe is open 11 a.m.-noon weekdays and provides lunch items for youths 18 and younger.

The offerings were implemented after the Tonganoxie school district announced that it no longer qualified for the free summer lunch program, which the district had been offering the last few years alongside many other districts.
