Library Giving Day is a national fundraising event to help raise funds for local libraries through the generosity of people who depend on and enjoy libraries.

From today through Friday, any monetary gift is eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching, up to $1,000, through the Northeast Kansas Library Foundation.

Donations need to be made through the website at foundation.nekls.org/lgd in order to count towards the matching funds. The link can also be located on the library’s website at tonganoxielibrary.org.

Library hours update

The library will be closed twice this coming week.

On Friday, the library may have cars in the parking lot, but it will be closed for a staff development day, so we won’t be available to assist patrons.

On Sunday, the library will be closed for the Easter holiday.

Food demo program one week earlier than normal

The April K-State Research and Extension presented Knowledge @ Noon food program will be at noon April 7.

This is one week earlier than normal but will return to the second Tuesday of the month in May. April’s program is all about flours: the different kinds of flour, their purposes and what you can make with them.

Join us for information, a food demo, sampling and a packet of recipes to take home.

Wine Bingo is next week

A popular annual library event is almost here again, wine bingo!

We’ll be playing 10 rounds of bingo starting at 6 p.m. April 9 with a wide variety of prizes and a lot of winners.

Cost is $15 to play, and this includes a complimentary glass of wine and snacks. We’re working with Crescent Moon Winery this year, and they will have extra bottles available for purchase. This event is for those 21 years and older only and does require registration by calling the library at 913-845-3281.

There are just a few spots open, so call now to reserve your seat, if interested.
