Organizers asking for photo submissions through years as Leavenworth County Fair celebrates 100 years

This photo is from the fourth year of the Leavenworth County Fair, circa 1930. Pictured in the middle is Maurice black Sr., who was the fair board president at the time. Black is the great-grandfather of Stephanie Shupe, who is a putting together a video in honor of 100 years of the fair.Organizers are working on a commemorative video celebrating 100 years of the Leavenworth County Fair and they’re asking for assistance from the public in providing photos through the years to include in the video.
Stephanie Shupe said she’s asking for photos from various decades as the fair celebrates 100 years in Tonganoxie. The early Leavenworth County Fair installments went by a different name, but the inaugural celebration was in 1926.
Fair photos can be sent to lvcofairphotos@gmail.com. Photos sent need to include the approximate year they were captured.
In addition, when submitting photos, the submitter should understand they are offering the photos voluntarily and that they could be used in the public video.
This year’s Leavenworth County Fair will be July 28-Aug. 1.
