Tonganoxie Public Library, 217 E. Fourth St.Annual costume exchange is here
Each year Tonganoxie Public Library offers a Halloween costume exchange for all ages of children throughout the month of October.
Residents can drop off any clean, gently used costumes you’d like to rehome. Then check back to see what we have throughout the month, if you’d like a new costume. You can donate without taking anything, and you can also take a new outfit without donating. Drop off any costumes or accessories during open library hours at the front desk.
2nd outdoor family movie night this week
Join our children’s librarian, Katie, on the first two Friday nights of October for a family friendly movie outdoors!
The movie starts at 7 p.m. and will be shown on our large outdoor screen. Bring blankets and chairs for seating, and then settle in for the classic “Hocus Pocus” on Oct. 9.
Take a walking tour of Hubbel Hill Cemetery
Join us on a wandering tour of the older sections of Hubbel Hill Cemetery right here in Tonganoxie at noon Saturday.
Our guide, Dana Twidwell, is dedicated to the preservation and exploration of historical cemeteries. Twidwell will lead us through the cemetery, respectfully sharing stories along the way. We’ll also touch on some beginner techniques of headstone cleaning as well as dos and don’ts. We will meet at the cemetery for the program, not at the library.
