The Leavenworth County Justice Center at 601 S. Third St., LeavenworthA 39-year-old Denver man was sentenced Friday to 49 months in prison for unlawful distribution of marijuana.
Alfred De La Llana Llanos was sentenced during a hearing in Leavenworth County District Court, per a release from the office of Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson.
According to court records, a Tonganoxie police officer stopped Llanos on Dec. 30, 2025. During the traffic stop, the officer detected a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officer searched the vehicle and located a duffel bag containing sealed packages of green vegetation. The substance later tested positive for marijuana. Llanos was arrested and later charged with unlawful distribution of marijuana.
“The fact that marijuana is still illegal to possess and distribute in Kansas means it’s still a concern and still a crime,” Thompson said. “Our concern will continue to be children having any access.”
