Tonganoxie USD 464’s Feldkamp to retire at end of 2025-26 academic year

Tonganoxie USD 464 Board Room at the Administrative Center.Loren Feldkamp is retiring as Tonganoxie USD 464 superintendent at the end of the 2025-26 school year after 46 years in public education.
The longtime educator and administrator announced his decision last week on the district’s website.

A 1974 graduate of Baileyville B&B High School, Feldkamp earned his bachelor’s in history and master’s in administration from Kansas State University. He began his career at his high school alma mater, teaching American history, government and world history, where he also coached varsity football and basketball. Over the years, he served as a teacher, coach, athletics director, principal and superintendent across several Kansas school districts: B&B-Baileyville, Onaga, Udall and Valley Falls. He has served as superintendent in Tonganoxie since 2018.
“It has been an honor to serve the students, staff, and families of Tonganoxie,” Feldkamp said in the release on the website. “Education has given me a lifetime of purpose and professional fulfillment, and I am grateful for the relationships built along the way. Nancy and I look forward to this next chapter, spending more time with our children and grandchildren while cheering on the continued success of USD 464.”
Feldkamp was at the Tonganoxie school district helm when the high school bond issue successfully passed in 2019.
He’s served on the KSHSAA Appeals Board, Executive Board, and Board of Directors, as well as the Region 1 KSSA Council of Superintendents. Recognized as the Kansas “Outstanding Young Educator of the Year” in 1990 and a three-time Kansas Girls Basketball Coach of the Year, Feldkamp has been nominated for Kansas Superintendent of the Year six times.
He and his wife, Nancy have been married for 47 years and are the proud parents of Scott, Janine (Ryan), and Matthew, as well as grandparents to Tatum, Kendal and Maggie.
Board members had a special meeting Monday to approve a request for proposals for superintendent search services.
