Spooktacular is Friday night on Fourth Street

Downtown Tonganoxie gets quite festive in October as organizers prepare for Spooktacular. The event for youths along Fourth Street traditionally takes place the Friday before Halloween.

Spooktacular will be 6-8 p.m. Friday in downtown Tonganoxie.

Youths and their families are welcome to stroll down Fourth Street as businesses and organizations hand out candy during the popular annual event.

Tonganoxie Business Association sponsors the event. There also will be the Scarecrow Hollow for youths to go through inside at Tonganoxie Public Library. The library is partnering with Tonganoxie Recreation Commission for the special offering. Be sure to check out the details in the Library Corner column on page 3A for more information.

In addition, the Laffery house will be handing out candy that night at its outdoor spooky scene at 109 E. Third St. northwest of the library.
