The library’s after-school food program, Chieftain Cafe, resumed its normal time today on the first day of school for the Tonganoxie school district. Youths up to age 18 can receive a free sandwich, drink and snack from 3:15-4:30 p.m. after school Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 2:15-3:30 pm. Wednesdays.

The library is excited to share a photograph art display from Bekah Stewart Kibler.

When you stop in, peruse photos focused on Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence where you’ll see all aspects of the cemetery throughout the seasons.

The photos will be on display through Aug. 24. Bekah is passionate about preserving family histories, libraries and manuscripts. In her free time, she can often be found wandering cemeteries and photographing the journey.

She will also be our guest at this month’s Death Cafe at 4 p.m. Aug. 24.

Puzzle Swap later this month

If you can think about getting a pumpkin spice latte at the end of August, it must be the perfect time for a puzzle swap!

Now’s the time to clean out your puzzles and get a few new ones before fall and winter make you snuggle into puzzling mode. The swap will be noon-2 p.m. Aug. 29. Puzzles may be brought to the library on Aug. 28 or can be brought on Saturday at least 15 minutes before the swap begins.

Please count your puzzles ahead of time to make sure all pieces are included and in good condition for sharing!
