Library Corner: Writing Group this week; Death Cafe coming up
Shawn Linenberger
Tonganoxie Public Library, 217 E. Fourth St.Writing group next week
The Writer’s Group will meet on a special day for the month of July.
The group normally meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month but will meet next week at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 29. The Writer’s Group is a workshop-type writing group for writers of all genres and experience levels.
Leader Becky Jeeves provides encouragement, writing prompts (if desired), tips and feedback. Create new work or bring something you’re already writing. It’s a safe and fun sharing space though you’re not required to share. Bring a pen, paper or a computer!
Death Cafe looks at historical and unusual deaths
The monthly meeting of the library’s Death Cafe will happen next week at 4 p.m. Monday and we’ll be looking at interesting factoids of historical or unusual deaths.
Take a look at death over time with us, though any topic on death and dying is perfectly okay for discussion as well.
The group meets on the fourth Monday each month and is co-hosted by Visiting Nurses Association. Tea, snacks, and conversation about death shouldn’t be uncomfortable!
