The Tonganoxie Public Library will host a special bingo event from noon-2:30 p.m. Aug. 15. All of the prizes will be live plants or plant- and garden-related!

Players will have 10 rounds of play, including special rounds, and the library will provide snacks and drinks, too. It’s free to play, but those who are interested must register in advance by calling the library at 913-845-3281.

Plant Bingo is for adults and those 14 years and older. Space is limited, so call into reserve a spot soon!

Chieftain Cafe food program resumes later afternoon hours soon

With the start of school in Tonganoxie coming up quickly, the hours for the Chieftain Cafe will resume their normal time on the first day of school for the Tonganoxie School District on Aug. 11.

Kids up to age 18 can receive a free sandwich, drink and snack from 3:15-4:30 p.m. after school Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 2:15-3:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
