Tonganoxie USD 464 school board meeting is Monday

Tonganoxie USD 464 Board Room at the Administrative Center.The Tonganoxie USD 464 school board will have its regular monthly meeting for March on Monday, but it will come on the heels of various special meetings amid the district’s leader remaining on administrative leave with pay for more than a month.
The board has met twice in special meetings since the last regular meeting, which was Feb. 9. That regular meeting came after a Jan. 30 special meeting in which the board approved putting Superintendent Loren Feldkamp on administrative leave through Feb. 9. At the meeting that night, the board voted to keep Feldkamp on paid administrative leave until further notice. The USD 464 superintendent is slated to retire at the end of June.
Kansas Association of School Boards attorney Lori Kopp has met with the board in recent executive sessions as well, whether in person or remotely. Board President Justin Sturgeon has declined comment on the decision to place Feldkamp on administrative leave, noting that he cannot speak about personnel matters.
Monday’s meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the USD 464 Administrative Center. It also can be viewed on the district’s YouTube page live or anytime after the meeting.
