Tonganoxie USD 464 Board Room at the Administrative Center.Tonganoxe USD 464 Superintendent Loren Feldkamp remains on administrative leave with pay following yet another school board meeting.
Board members met for 30 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel and invited Kansas Association of School Boards attorney Lori Kopp into the meeting.
After the meeting, the board announced no action was taken and then adjourned.
Becky Nasalroad, former director of communications and engagement for the district spoke earlier in the meeting during patron commments.
“I’m here to express my concern about how board policy is appoiled when employee safety is at stake,” she said, continuing that she filed a formal complaint against the superintendent alleging gender discrimination, bullying and threats toward staff.
Naslroad, who had 3 minutes to speak during patron comments per board policy, continued about concerns with the timeline of the process and noting that there it’s been two months since the complaint first was formerly filed.
The board approved at a Jan. 30 special meeting putting Feldkamp on administrative leave through Feb. 9, which was the date of the next board meeting. At that meeting, the board voted to keep Feldkamp on paid administrative leave until further notice and he’s been on paid leave ever since. He’s slated to retire at the end of June.
Kopp has met with the board in recent executive sessions as well, whether in person or remotely. Board President Justin Sturgeon has declined comment on the decision to place Feldkamp on administrative leave, noting that he cannot speak about personnel matters.
