A fishy storytime next week

Swim in for an extra special storytime with Miss Katie at 10:30 a.m. March 20 at Tonganoxie Public Library when we’ll celebrate “The Pout-Pout Fish” coming to theaters!

Enjoy “The Pout-Pout Fish” book and activities during storytime where all attendees will also be entered in a raffle to win four AMC movie tickets and a $20 AMC gift card. The movie will be released in theaters the same day as our special storytime, so listen in the morning and watch later on!

Two-part writing workshop continues

The library is excited to offer a two-part introductory writing workshop series where participants will get to explore the art of personal storytelling with Becky Jeeves.

Learn how to transform your lived experiences into story using the tools of narrative craft. The first workshop was Tuesday but the second one will be 6-8 p.m. March 24. Both workshops will include some free-writing and use of prompts to encourage the process.

Reading and commenting on each other’s work is optional but encouraged. No registration is required, but participants should bring a notepad, pen or computer. While geared more toward adults, teens 13 years and older are welcome to come too!
