Leavenworth man convicted of sexual battery

The Leavenworth County Justice Center at 601 S. Third St., LeavenworthAn 83-year-old Leavenworth man has been convicted of sexual battery.
David R. Thomas pleaded no contest to the charge Thursday in Leavenworth County District Court, according to a release from the office of Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson. The court accepted his plea and found Thomas guilty.
According to court documents, on June 11, Thomas inappropriately touched a female victim who was under the age of 18. Court documents state the victim was at Thomas’ home to help with household and vehicle-related tasks.
While at Thomas’ home, Thomas lifted the victim’s shirt and placed money inside her bra. When the victim backed away, Thomas did not remove his hand. Instead, he moved his hand onto the victim’s breast and grabbed it.
Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 6.
