The existing playground at Chieftain Park will be closing later this month for the upcoming renovation project for the playground area.

This project will require the playground project area to be fully closed and inaccessible for a period of time to help protect the safety of park patrons. City crews will begin removing the existing equipment within the next several weeks to help make room for new playground equipment and surfacing, which will be installed by the equipment supplier.

The park will close Oct. 26. The estimated date of completion of the new playground project is March 1, 2027.
