Dean Oleson

Services for Dean Leonard Oleson, 70, Lenexa, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Lenexa United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Mr. Oleson died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at his home.
He was born March 11, 1938, in Estherville, Iowa, the son of Maurice and Norma (Jackman) Oleson. He earned his BA degree at Iowa State University and master’s from the University of Iowa. Dean was an actuary for BMA, retiring in 1995.
Two sons, Michael and Steven, died earlier.
Survivors include his wife, Janet (Carman) Oleson, of the home; three daughters, Kathryn Oleson, Portland, Ore., Charlotte Semler, Independence, Mo., and Elizabeth Rogers, Lenexa; six sons, Sean, Olathe, Jeff, Ottawa, William, Memphis, Tenn., Jason, Overland Park, and Sterling and Alex, both of Lenexa; a sister, Linda Williams, Bemidji, Minn.; a brother, Chauncey, St. Cloud, Minn.; and nine grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to either Lenexa United Methodist Church, 9138 Caenen Lake Rd., Lenexa, KS 66215, or the American Cancer Society.
