Lois Laster

Services for Lois J. (Barnes) Laster, 79, of Overland Park, will be Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Overland Park First Assembly of God.
Mrs. Laster died Saturday, Nov. 29, at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park. She fought a valiant and painful fight with rheumatoid arthritis, along with many other illnesses.
She was born Sept. 18. 1929, the daughter of Cecil and Buelah Barnes.
She graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School. In August of this year she celebrated 31 years with Avon, achieving the honor of Presidents Club over 25 of those years, the latest being in 2007 while in the nursing home. She was a longtime member of Overland Park First Assembly of God.
Her husband of 46 years, Norman H. Laster, died in 1994
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie Padgett, Overland Park; a son, Michael Laster, Shawnee; four grandsons; a great granddaughter; three sisters, LaVerne Kane, Beverly Smreker, and Sheryl Orser; and two brothers, Bob Barnes and Gary Barnes.
The family suggests memorials to the Western Missouri Arthritis Association, 1900 W. 75th St., Suite 200, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Both Lois and Norman battled this awful, debilitating disease.
