Pearl Branchcomb
Services for Pearl Flemings Branchcomb, 105, Edwardsville, were Saturday, July 19, at St. Matthew A.M.E., Bonner Springs, with interment at Highland Park.
Mrs. Branchcomb died Saturday, July 12, 2008.
She was born May 14, 1903 in O’Neal, Ark., the daughter of Nathaniel and Annie Flemings. Her father owned his own farm on which she spent time taming wild horses and working on the land.
In April 1920, she married Estes Winner Branchcomb. He died in 1965.
Mrs. Branchcomb was a member of the Silver Thimble Society, which made quilts for patients in Bethany Hospital. Working as a Red Cross volunteer, one of her duties was making bandages for World War I soldiers. Recently, she enjoyed spending time at the Sunflower Adult Day Care in Kansas City, Kan.
Survivors include two nieces and two nephews.
