Sarah Votaw Knabe

Funeral services for Sarah Blanche Votaw Knabe, 94, Eudora will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 at Hesper Friends Church. Interment will follow at Hesper Cemetery, Rural Douglas Co.
Mrs. Knabe died July 28, 2008, at Medicalodges, Eudora.
She was born September 26, 1913 in Eudora, the daughter of Irvin and Myrtle Hayes Votaw.
She graduated from Eudora High School and attended Nursing School at Research Hospital in Kansas City. She married Herbert Leroy Knabe on September 15, 1935. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1982. She worked as a farmer and homemaker for her family.
She was a member of the Hesper Friends Church and EHU.
Survivors include one brother, Everett Votaw, Eudora; one son, Richard, and his wife, Linda Knabe, Eudora; one daughter, Twilla, and her husband, Karl Eisele, Wellsville; grandchildren, Karla and husband, Allen Osborn of Baldwin City; Keith and wife, Jamie Knabe, Eudora; Russell and wife, Stacey Eisele of Overland Park; Loren and wife, Yami Eisele, Bartlesville, Okla.; Edwin and wife Casee Eisele, Waterloo, Iowa; great-grandchildren, AJ, Will and Audrey Osborn; Dustin and Kevin Webb; Cortlyn, Faith and Brin Eisele; and Spenser and Lance Eisele.
The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary- Eudora Chapel. She also will lie in state from noon until visitation time of Thursday.
The family suggests memorial contributions in her name to Hesper Friends Church or Medicalodges of Eudora and sent in care of the mortuary.
