Steve Watson
Funeral services for Steve R. Watson, 42, Eudora, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Eudora City Cemetery.
Mr. Watson died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 3, 1965, in Frankfurt, Germany, the son of Jonathan T. Sr. and Christel G. Forster Watson.
He graduated from Junction City High School in 1982. He later attended Kansas State University and graduated from North Central Kansas Technical College in Beloit. Mr. Watson was an operations supervisor for Black Hills/Aquila for the past seven years. He previously worked for Cloud Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Eudora, where he was an Awana leader.
He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, Lawrence River City Cosmopolitan Club, Lawrence Chamber of Commerce and Lawrence Home Builders Association Remodelers Council. He volunteered with Warm Hearts to help winterize homes. Mr. Watson married Machaela Elizabeth Beem on March 4, 2000, in Eudora. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Connor, of the home; three daughters, Emily and Abigail, of the home, and Jenna, Junction City; his mother, Christel Watson, Mary Ester, Fla.; a brother, Tom and wife Lizsette, Platte Woods, Mo.; three sisters, Monica Duley and husband Tom, Mary Ester, Fla., Christel Johnson, Alpharetta, Ga., and Elka McGuyton and husband Donald, Casper, Wyo.; his mother-in-law, Mary Beem, Eudora; and his grandmother-in-law, Fern Long, Eudora.

5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Watson Children’s Education Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
