John Bradley

Services for John M. Bradley, 94, were Monday, Nov. 3, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial was in Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Bradley died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008.
His passing marks the closing of another generation of the William Bradley family, an Irish immigrant that came to America during the frontier days to tame the wilds of the prairie land now known as Bonner Springs.
Mr. Bradley was born Sept. 7, 1914, in Monegaw Springs, Mo., the third of seven children of John Hennery and Mabel Nora (Barrett) Bradley. He was raised in Appleton City. He moved to the Edwardsville and Bonner Springs area, where he met the love of his life, Josephine Staniszewski.
He was a farmer and later worked at the Lonestar Cement Plant, from which he retired from after 30 years of employment.
A daughter, Carroll Rose Meeker, died in 1979. His wife, Josephine Bradley, died in 2000.
Survivors include five children, Patty Bradley of the home, Kathy Benson, Edwardsville, Margaret Chapman, Bonner Springs, John W. Bradley, Orrick, Mo., and Gloria Chambers, Leavenworth; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to help with expenses, sent in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St. Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
