Marianne Jones

Services for Marianne “Dixie” Jones, 73, Linwood, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at United Methodist Church in Linwood. Burial will follow in Mount Sidney Cemetery, Linwood.
Mrs. Jones died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1935, in New York, the daughter of Edward and Esther McCracken Dixon.
She graduated in 1972 from Kansas University. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Linwood, Social Order of the Beauceant in Lawrence, Kansas National Education Association, Linwood Library Club and a life member of Sincerity Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Kansas City, Kan.
She married Howard G. Jones on Sept 6, 1957, in Linwood. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Kevin Jones, Shawnee, and Brian Jones, Waldorf, Md.; a daughter Kerry Chaffin, Overland Park; two brothers, Robert Dixon, Linwood, N.J., and Paul Dixon, Hilo, Hawaii; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
