Evelyn Schneider

Services for Evelyn Joyce Cox Schneider, 76, Shawnee, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Merriam Christian Church. Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Schneider died Sunday morning, Sept. 14, 2008, at her home.
She was born Aug. 7, 1932, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Ralph Clayton and Frances Barbara (Schifelbein) Cox. Mrs. Schneider was a florist and worked at Bakers Florist for 15 years and as a supervising judge with the Johnson County Election Board for 30 years. Evelyn was a member of the Merriam Christian Church.
Her husband, Eldon E. “Mort” Schneider, died Aug. 8, 2005.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara “Bobbie” Reid and Jody Burns, Lenexa; a son, Jeff Schneider, Leonardtown, Md.; two sisters, Loretta Perz, Los Angeles, and Georgia Dvorak, Merritt Island, Fla.; a brother, Wayne Cox, Topeka, Kan.; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
