Charles Bright
Services for Charles A. Bright, 88, Shawnee, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
Mr. Bright died Sunday, April 26, 2009.
He was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Ray County, Mo., the son of Anjil Raridan and Bess C. (Kirkpatrick) Bright.
Mr. Bright was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in Panama. He worked at KCP&L as chief analyst of plant records until his retirement in 1985.
On Jan. 24, 1943, he married Helen Myers. She died on Jan. 25, 2005.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula Anderson, her husband, Kevin; a son, Ken Bright, his wife, Nan; three granddaughters; a grandson; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 1, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. The family suggests memorials to either Hope Lutheran School for its scholarship fund, KC Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
