Memorial Mass for Virginia D. Carmitcheal, 85, Mission, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Mrs. Carmitcheal died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at her home after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Blaine, Kan., the daughter of William and Mary (Cummings) Harrington.
Mrs. Carmitcheal retired in 1989 from Ohio Casualty Insurance Co., where she worked for more than 20 years.
Survivors include her son, Jack Carmitcheal; three daughters, Connie (David) Allen, Susan (Kevin) Kohlmeyer and Judy (John) Novak; two sisters, Veronica Bensley and Edna Glick; and eight grandchildren.
Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee handled arrangements.
The family suggests memorials to either Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall, Kansas City, MO 64145, or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral chapel, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.
