Edmund Thomas, Jr.

Services for Edmund C. Thomas Jr., 92, Shawnee, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at his home.
He was born April 21, 1917, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Edmund and Georgia (Adams) Thomas.
Mr. Thomas graduated from Argentine High School and from Kansas State University with a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering. He did postgraduate work in atomic physics and archeology at Kansas University.
He worked in the mechanical engineering field for a number of firms, the last being Wilcox Electric, where he spent more than 16 years. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Kansas State alumni group.
A son, Mark Thomas, died earlier.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite J. (Leffler) Thomas, of the home; a son, Edmund C. Thomas III and wife, Kay, Paola; three grandsons; seven great grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Eugene and Gwen Thomas, Prescott, Ariz.; and a sister-in-law, Alice Robinson.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel.
