Wilma Hobson
Hutchinson — Memorial services for Wilma Jean Hobson, 81, Hutchinson, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City. Mrs. Hobson died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at her home.
She was born July 13, 1927, in Eureka, the daughter of Clarence and Ina May Davis Showalter. She graduated from Baldwin High School in 1946.
A resident of Hutchinson since 1964, she was a homemaker. She worked in the shoe department for Pegues, J.C. Penney and the Bootery.
Mrs. Hobson was a member of the Ives Chapel Methodist Church, Baldwin City, and bowled for a women’s bowling team.
She married James Hobson on Nov. 11, 1955, in Baldwin City. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Chris Hobson and wife, Lita, Buhler; a daughter, Kay Lynn Cooper, Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
