Reuben Roath
Graveside services for Reuben Roath, 73, of Kansas City, Kan., were Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Roath died Wednesday, Jan, 14, 2009, at his home.
He was born March 22, 1935, in Crossett, Ark., and had lived in this area since 1949. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Bonner Springs.
He had previously worked as a butcher at Kansas City Dressed Beef and at Sambol Packing Co. More recently he was a packer at Owens Corning Fiberglass in Kansas City, Kan. He retired in 1998.
A daughter, Deborah Sailor died in 2006; a son, Kyle Roath died in 1985. Also dying earlier were two grandchildren and a great-grandchild
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Mary Lou Roath, of the home; 12 children, Terri Roath, Ethel Roath, Reuben Jr., Dwayne, Kimberly Williams, Robin Roath, and Rashell Ridenour, all of Kansas City, Mo., Bruce, Moberly, Mo., Bobbi Moreno, North Kansas City, Mo., Travis Ridenour, Kansas City, Kan., Nicholas, Overland Park, and Matthew, of the home; 32 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Alice Roath, Kansas City, Mo.
