Ruth Jones

Services for Ruth Ellen Jones, 67, Kansas City, Kan., will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at West Haven Baptist Church, Tonganoxie.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie, while visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m.
Mrs. Jones died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at her home.
She was born March 12, 1942, in Tonganoxie, the daughter of Mark and Susie Brown Matthews. She married John Edward Jones on Oct. 1, 1976, in Kansas City, Kan.
She worked for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and Medical Lodge Nursing Home. Mrs. Jones was a member of Roswell Church of Christ, Kansas City, Kan. Two daughters, Diane and Kimberly Matthews, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, John Edward Jones, of the home; eight brothers, Robert Matthews, San Diego, Earl Matthews, Dorchester, Mass., Mark Matthews, Bennington, Wash., Clifford Matthews, St. Louis, Jesse Matthews, Kansas City, Mo., Floyd Matthews, Tonganoxie, David Matthews, Leavenworth, and Claude Matthews, Kissimmee, Fla.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
