Gina Bailey-Carbaugh

Mass of Christian Burial for Gina Marie Bailey-Carbaugh, 43, of Lawrence was Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Ms. Bailey-Carbaugh died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 28, 1965, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Russell and Jaunita Pickert Bailey.
She attended Lawrence public schools and was a 1983 graduate of Lawrence High School. She attended Kansas University and Johnson County Community College, and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washburn University in Topeka.
She worked as a resident care coordinator and assistant director of nursing at Medicalodges of Eudora. She had previously worked in the emergency room at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was a certified nurse assistant teacher for Neosho County Community College at the Lawrence campus site.
She enjoyed cross-stitching, gardening, spending time with friends and family, walking her dog, Luke, and collecting rooster figurines. She was proud of her role in helping to save lives.
Ms. Bailey-Carbaugh was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Survivors include two daughters, Kelli Carbaugh, Lawrence, and Caitlin and husband Anthony Thomas, Paxico; one son, Sgt. Don Carbaugh, Cherry Point, N.C; her parents, Russell and Jaunita Bailey, Lawrence; one sister, Lisa Bauman, Roeland Park; and two grandchildren, Amahni Carbaugh and Aalycia Dillon.
A rosary was recited Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the Gina Bailey-Carbaugh Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
