Nicholas Tankersley

Funeral services for Nicholas Lee Tankersley, 18, Leoti, were Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mairienthal. Burial followed in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Tankersley died June 19, 2009, in Leoti.
He was born Dec. 26, 1990, in Leoti to Steve L. and Traci Ann Spradling Tankersley.
He was a 2009 graduate of Wichita County High School and was enlisted to begin basic training with the United States Marine Corps in September. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. While a high school student, he participated in football, F.A.A. basketball, golf and track.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Clint, Andover, and Justin, Hutchinson; two sisters, Shawna, Hutchinston, and Elizabeth, Leoti; grandparents Beverly and Manny C de Baca, Canon City, Colo., and Jeanne Spradling, Baldwin City.
