Eugene Smith

Bonner Springs — Services for Eugene Walker Smith, 77, Bonner Springs, were Saturday, Aug. 29, at Basehor United Methodist Church. Burial was at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka.
Mr. Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Nov. 10, 1931, in Topeka and had lived in the Bonner Springs area since 1973.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard and had worked for the Santa Fe Railway, out of Topeka, and then for Union Pacific Railroad. He retired in 1993.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary M. Smith, of the home; two sons, David A., Bonner Springs, and Steven E., Basehor; a daughter, Jeanne M. Bullard, Chandler, Ariz.; a sister, Arlene Metzger, Topeka; and 13 grandchildren.
