Charles Baker

Services for Charles “Jerry” Baker, 78, Tonganoxie, were Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Burial was at Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
Mr. Baker died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at his home.
He was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Tonganoxie, the son of Charles and Ann (Robbins) Baker. He was a 1950 graduate of Tonganoxie High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Baker was the owner of Baker & Sons Grocery Store in Tonganoxie.
His first wife, Dorothy (Kelly) Baker, died in 1989. On Aug. 27, 1994, he married Denise Olson in Leavenworth. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Greg, McLouth, Gerald, Kansas City, Kan., and Gary, Overland Park; a brother, Jim, Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Joyce Copeland, Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
