Joan Boyer
Services for Joan Danelski Pierce Boyer, 78, Emporia, were Wednesday, March 31, at First United Methodist Church, Emporia. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
Mrs. Boyer died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
She was born Jan. 12, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Joseph E. and Mabel (Byerly) Danelski.
Mrs. Boyer was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, Emporia, Emporia Friends of the Zoo, and was a past member of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce. She had been active in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA and bowling league.
She married James G. Pierce on Dec. 22, 1951, at Bonner Springs. He died Oct. 17, 1991, in Emporia. On Dec. 5, 1992, she married Clarence Boyer in Emporia. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, David J. Pierce, Bonner Springs; three daughters, Diane E. Unruh, Strong City, Debbie J. Redeker, Hartford, and Donna J. Arndt, Emporia; a stepson, Michael Boyer, Topeka; two stepdaughters, Kim Gordon, Overland Park, and Julie Boyer, Shawnee; 10 grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren
