Lila Swanner

A memorial service for Lila Swanner, 82, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. Burial will be at a later date at Hartford Cemetery, Hartford.
Mrs. Swanner died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Kansas University Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
She was born July 23, 1928, in Hartford, Kan., the daughter of Paul and Opal Grace (Spencer) Baysinger.
She was a bookkeeper for Truzillo construction company. She was a member of the North Lawrence Christian Church.
She married E.W. “Bill” Swanner on July 28, 1945 in Hutchinson. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Rita Hardesty, Oskaloosa, Jo Fietkau, Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Jan Klienow, Edwardsville; a sister, Pauline Johnston, Wyoming; a brother, Dean Baysinger, Madison, Kan.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
An infant daughter, Marvel CiAnne, died earlier.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
The family suggests memorials to the North Lawrence Christian Church, sent in care of the mortuary.
