Harry Mecum
Kansas City, Kan. — Services for Glenn Harry Mecum, 67, Kansas City, Kan., were Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Burial was at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park.
Mr. Mecum died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at his home.
He was born Jan. 11, 1943, in Lincoln, Neb., and had lived the majority of his life in the Kansas City area. Mr. Mecum had worked for Associated Wholesale Grocers in Kansas City, Kan., as a Teamster’s Union Local # 41 truck driver. He retired in July 2007.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Glenda Mecum, of the home; two sons, Tony Craig and wife, Sheryl, Kansas City, Kan., and Darryl Mecum and his wife, Pam, Bonner Springs; a daughter, Tammy Bond, Bonner Springs; a brother, Jim Mecum, of Ozark, Ark.; four sisters, Lorraine Stoebick, Gardner, Patty Sue Brewer, Parkville, Mo., and Connie Hale and Lola Blanton, both of Spavinaw, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
