Joseph Maslak
Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph John Maslak, 88, Wellsville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at All Saints Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Maslak died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Wellsville Nursing Home.
He was born April 2, 1922, in Kansas City, Kan., and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Maslak was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served in England where he met and married his wife. He had worked for Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp. for many years, retiring in the mid-1980s.
His wife of 64 years, Ivy Maslak, died in February. A son, Edward Maslak, died in 2006, and a grandson, Brian Buckley, died in 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Buckley, Ottawa; a grandson; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
