Paul Scurlock

Shawnee — Graveside services for Paul Scurlock, 86, Shawnee, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
Mr. Scurlock died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Sharon Lane Nursing Center, Shawnee.
He was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Murfreesboro, Tenn., the son of Tenney and Martha (Bryant) Scurlock. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service until his retirement.
Mr. Scurlock was an honorary member of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and a Master Gardener.
Four sons and a daughter, Paul Scurlock Jr., Jon Scurlock, Jack Scurlock, David Scurlock and Erni Swimley, died earlier.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores (Beach) Scurlock; a daughter, Jan Hersh, Prairie Village; a son, Dan Scurlock, Rochester, N.Y.; a stepson, Carl Welch, Council Bluffs, Iowa; a sister, Georgia Hartley, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
