Overland Park — Memorial services for Billy Joe Ford, Overland Park, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Inurnment will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Ford died Friday, June 25, 2010, at his home.
He was born Dec. 24, 1933.
A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Ford served in the Johnson County-area Firefighter Association in many different capacities, including as fire chief of Shawnee. He retired in 1982 after 38 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia Ford; three daughters, Mary Bailey, Puyallup, Wash., Deborah Ford, Fayetteville, Ark., and Jessica Prince, of the home; four sons, David Ford, Kansas City, Mo., Jeremy Prince, Belton, Mo., and Joshua Prince and Richard Ford, both of the home; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
