Helyn Smith

Shawnee — Services for Helyn Smith, 82, Shawnee, were Thursday, March 11, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial was at St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, Mo.
Mrs. Smith died Monday, March 8, 2010.
She was born Dec. 27, 1927, in Sunbury, Ohio, the daughter of George and Ethel (Buchanan) Morrison.
Mrs. Smith worked as a beautician for many years, and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 327.
A grandson died earlier.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd T. Smith; a son Okey Bess, and his wife, Jeri; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, sent in care of the funeral chapel, 10900 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.
