Albert Doege

Services for Albert Doege, 90, Tonganoxie, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Lansing.
Mr. Doege died Sunday March 21, 2010, at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Leavenworth.
He was born Feb. 13, 1920, the son of Albert and Corline Eble Doege on the family farm in Stranger Township, Leavenworth County.
Mr. Doege attended Smith Elementary School and graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 1939. He was a chief petty officer, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942-1947. Mr. Doege specialized in diesel mechanics and went to college at Iowa State University.
He was active in the Leavenworth County watershed program, served as a Stranger Township Trustee and also was active in the American Legion and Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie.
Survivors include his wife, Celesta (Blaskowski) Doege, of the home; and two sisters, Anna Mary Landauer, Basehor, and Alberta Welch, Rapid City, S.D.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
