Roy Goble

Services for Roy Scott Goble, 95, Bonner Springs, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Burial will be in Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Goble died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Manor Care Nursing Home of Overland Park.
He was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Wallula, the son of E.A. and Lena (Scott) Goble.
Mr. Goble owned Bonner Springs Auto Repair for many years where his parting words for customers were always, “Be sure and check your oil.”
Mr. Goble served on the Bonner Springs Elementary School Board for 12 years. He attended Elm Grove Baptist Church.
After he retired, Mr. Goble and his wife spent more than 20 winters in Texas. He was the minister at the park where they lived.
His wife of 59 years, Dorothy Goble, died in 2001. A daughter, Mary Hisel, died in 1991.
Survivors include three children, Stan (Holly) Goble, Leawood; Roy (Kathleen) Goble, Sun City West, Ariz.; and Ed (Connie) Goble, Overland Park; a sister, Helen Klem, Ottawa; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the visitation prior to the service at the funeral home.
