Donald Roberts

Services for Donald E. Roberts, 81, Basehor, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Liberty Baptist Church, 13101 Parallel Pkwy., Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, Shawnee.
Mr. Roberts died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born July 15, 1929 in Concordia, He had lived in the Basehor area for more than 50 years.
Mr. Roberts was a truck driver for Thompson-Hayward Chemical Co. in Kansas City for more than 30 years, retiring in 1984. He had been the previous owner of Roberts Retail Liquor in Basehor.
Two sons preceded him in death: Bruce Roberts in 2002 and Dean Roberts in 2010.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Roberts, Edwardsville; four children, Ken Roberts, Clinton, Terry Roberts, Leavenworth, LaDonna Shipman, Tonganoxie, and Mark Roberts, Basehor; a sister, Berneda Swanson, Concordia; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at the church. The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
